
Awards for outstanding leading actress and and actor are the most anticipated among all categories. This year, the battle of best movie actress will be a face-off between Annette Bening (The Kids Are All Right), Nicole Kidman (Rabbit Hole), Jennifer Lawrence (Winter's Bone), Natalie Portman (Black Swan) and Hilary Swank (Conviction).
The King's Speech tops with three nominations in all movies' categories : Colin Firth, starring King George VI, for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor; Geoffrey Rush, starring Lionel Logue, for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role; and Helena Bonham Carter, starring Queen Elizabeth, for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role.
For the TV awards, the whole cast team of Mad Men was among those nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, with Jon Hamm (Don Draper) up for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor and Elisabeth Moss (Peggy Olson) in the race for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor.
Teen favorite Glee also had its share of nods. Chris Culfer, who plays Kurt Hummel in the musical comedy show, was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series, while Jane Lynch's portrayal of Sue Sylvester put her on the list for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor.
Debuting in 1995, the SAG Awards are one of the entertainment industry's most recognized awards along with the Emmys, the Oscars and the Golden Globes. The final awards ceremony will take place on January 30, 2011.
