Scientology leader David Miscavige’s wife, Shelley, was located by the LAPD following a missing person investigation reportedly initiated by actress Leah Remini, who recently publicly quit the church.

The Los Angeles Times reported that officials spoke with Shelley Miscavige and the case is resolved.

Unnamed sources spoke with the Times, but they did not say where Shelley was located or when they found her. The case was purportedly caused after Remini made the claim.

Officials said that police are not investigating the matter. “The LAPD has classified the report as unfounded, indicating that Shelly is not missing,” a statement from police reads.

“This is just harassment. It is a publicity stunt cooked up by a small band of unemployed fanatics who live on the fringe of the Internet,” a representative with the church told the Times.

The statement added: “Sadly, rather than move on with her life and career, Ms. Remini has aligned herself with a handful of untrustworthy, lunatic tabloid sources who obsessively harass the Church to advance their selfish agendas.”

Remini alleged that Shelley had not been seen publicly in six years.
