Sasha Obama recital: President Barack Obama attended a recital for his youngest daughter, Sasha, in suburban Maryland on Saturday.

President Barack Obama attended the dance recital for his youngest daughter, Sasha, in suburban Maryland, it was reported.
The president appeared to have taken the night off to see Sasha Obama at the Music Center at Strathmore on Saturday, an official with the White House told The Associated Press.
Strathmore is a nonprofit arts center that hosts art events and classes located in North Bethesda, Maryland.
Sasha is the youngest of the president’s two children. Her older sister is Malia Obama, who is 14.
In mid-January, First Lady Michelle Obama was quoted by the The New York Times as saying: “I want them to be normal kids, just like you guys, polite and respectful and kind.” She added: “I’m winning,” in reference to giving her children normal childhoods.
Days before Obama gave the interview quoted by the Times, her two daughters were caught on camera during President Obama’s inauguration speech. Sasha was photographed yawning, which went viral on Twitter.
“Literally every time Sasha Obama is on screen, she isn’t paying attention to anything and I really, really love that about her,” Twitter user Casey Turner of Manhattan said at the time, according to the newspaper.
And as the two girls get older, they will have less and less time to spend with their father.
“Now that my girls are getting older, they don’t want to spend that much time with me anyway, so I’ll be probably calling around, looking for somebody to play cards with me or something, because I’m getting kind of lonely in this big house,” President Obama said in January, according to the paper.
