Sarah McLinn is the sole suspect in the death of Harold ‘Hal’ Sasko in Lawrence, Kansas.

McLinn went missing a few weeks ago and was found safe in the Florida Everglades.

Police searched Sasko’s home after McLinn went missing because she lived there, too. They discovered Sasko’s body.

Lawrence Police Chief Tarik Khatib told reporters at a press conference on Monday that McLinn is the only suspect and that she has been charged with first-degree murder.

“We believe she is the only one responsible,” Khatib said, reported 6Lawrence.

Evidence points to McLinn planning the crime.

The 19-year-old recently graduated from Topeka High School and worked at a local CiCi’s restaurant.

Khatib said that McLinn can waive extradition or have an extradition hearing in Florida.

If she waives it, she'll be back in Kansas in the next couple days. If she doesn’t, she might not be back in Kansas for several months.
