Sarah Bruce, wife of Kansas Senate Majority Leader Terry Bruce, was arrested after a minor car accident and cited for a DUI and possession of a controlled substance.
Bruce unsafely backed her vehicle up and caused a car accident, police said.
The accident happened just after 3 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, the Hutch Post reported.
Bruce is in jail on a $1,000 bond.
Terry Bruce represents the 34th District in Kansas.
