Sandra Bullock heads an all-star cast ranging from celebrity chefs to sports stars in a PSA to encourage the public to sign a petition to restore the Gulf of Mexico after the BP oil spill.

The video, dubbed “Be the One,” features current New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning, who was born in Louisiana, as well as singer Lenny Kravitz, holding up their index fingers toward the camera.

“The Gulf Coast is an American treasure and its deterioration affects us all,” Bullock said in a statement. “The solution begins with each American demanding the restoration of the Gulf of Mexico, its coastlines and its wetlands for ourselves and for future generations.”

Women of the Storm, a grassroots organization formed the wake of Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita, came up with the idea for the petition, which demands funding to protect not only the Gulf itself but also the coastal regions and wetlands around the Gulf.

“The impact of a healthy Gulf of Mexico is critical to American domestic energy, shipping, seafood, ecology, recreation and culture,” said Anne Milling, founder of Women of the Storm founder.
