A fire was quickly extinguished in a storage room at the San Mateo Police Department on August 27 afternoon, according to police.
The fire was reported at about 1:15 p.m. at the police headquarters at 200 Franklin Parkway.
Firefighters responded to and found flames in a storage room in the building and quickly extinguished the blaze, police said.
The building was briefly evacuated but 911 emergency services remained uninterrupted and police walk-in services resumed by later in the afternoon.
