Safe Homes to Hold Events in Observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Safe Homes of Orange County will hold events to observe Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October. The kickoff event includes a ceremony, press conference, and open house at the Safe Homes office at 280 Broadway in Newburgh on Oct. 3 at noon. Other events include In Her Shoes, an interactive workshop, a Healing Through the Trauma training, the Clothesline Project, a display of shirts made by survivors of domestic abuse and their loved ones, a screening of The Mask We Live In, and Orange Wears Purple Day. The full schedule will be made available at safehomesorangecounty.org.

Safe Homes is a non-profit that works to eliminate domestic violence, dating violence, and human trafficking. Safe Homes also offers a 24-hour hotline to support domestic violence survivors.
