A grass fire has prompted evacuations along the American River in Sacramento, according to KCRA-TV.

The fire is burning along Highway 160 and the American River Parkway.

Gabriel Martinez, a resident near Grove Ave., said the fire is near an “old neighborhood,” which could provide a lot of “fuel” for the fire, reported KCRA.

He said that “white ash” has been falling from the sky near his home.

Another local told the station that their business was evacuated.

Martinez said that he could see fire helicopters and firefighters, while KCRA showed fire helicopters.

The Sacramento Bee reported that the fire has burned around five acres.

Patricia Beard, a local in a mobile home by the fire, said there’s lots of ash. KCRA reported there is a mobile home community near the fire.

CBS News reported that fire crews are attempting to access the fire via Lathrop Way and Commerce Circle.
