“Sack Tapping” has become an unhealthy phenomenon among young boys in schools across the United States. The issue has gained more attention after a student in Minnesota suffered an amputation after a sack tapping incident.

Sack tapping refers to a kind of bullying used by male school students. Students have been hitting each other in the groin as a form of horsing around at school. Things have gotten out of hand with young students as they sometimes do. The sack tapping permanently injured a student who lost a testicle after an emergency surgery because he was hit below the belt at school.

The young student in Minnesota was taken to the hospital earlier this week after being injured by a school mate. David [last name omitted for the sake of common decency], a fourteen year old student, was hit in the groin by a classmate at school. Later that night he woke his mother due to the extreme pain he was suffering and was taken to the hospital. Doctors at a local hospital in Crosby amputated the boy’s right testicle, reported the New York Daily News.

“This may be called a game, but it’s not a game. It’s dangerous and it needs to stop,” said Christy, David’s mother, to the New York Daily News.

David is not the only school boy to fall victim to a severe sack tapping injury. Dr. Wheeler, the Minnesota urologist who removed David’s testicle says that he was one of multiple patients he has treated following a sack tapping.

Wheeler told Fox News that he performs 3-4 surgeries a year from the inexcusable sack tapping occurrences. Not only have boys been hospitalized throughout the nation, reports have been made of students creating “Sack Tapping Circles” where multiple people are hit at a time. The activities have become so popular that there are videos on Youtube documenting the cruel, immature, and physically harmful behavior.
