WARSAW, Poland—Ryanair says no explosives were found on a plane in Warsaw that was the subject of a bomb threat call.

The airline said in a statement Thursday that Warsaw Modlin Airport “received an anonymous hoax call this morning” about an explosive device on a Ryanair aircraft due to take off for Oslo.

It said a security sweep found no explosives and the plane will proceed with the flight.

Spokesman for Warsaw police, Mariusz Mrozek, said that a 48-year-old man had been detained for making the call.

Ryanair stressed there was no emergency landing and passengers had not yet boarded the plane.

Earlier Thursday, spokesman for Warsaw firefighters Pawel Pomorski had said that 13 units were called to the airport to assist in an “emergency landing” with 160 people onboard.
