Russian missiles Syria: The Syrian government announced that air defense missiles from Russia arrived on May 30, but U.S. officials are disputing the claim.

Syrian President Bashar Assad said the S-300 missiles arrived without saying when they would be ready to use; the missiles are for changing the dynamics of the long and bloody civil war that has been happening between Assad’s forces and opposition forces. They are also a barrier to any Western forces getting directly involved in the war.

Two senior U.S. officials, however, told Fox News that Assad and his forces have not received the missiles yet.

The media outlet didn’t quote the officials or elaborate on how the officials knew that information.

Meanwhile, Israel has warned that it would strike shipments of the missiles.
