Prince William and Kate Middleton (now the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge) have delayed their honeymoon, choosing instead to spent a short break at a secret location in the British Isles. Prince William resumed his work as an RAF search and rescue helicopter pilot on Tuesday, May 3.

It has been speculated the couple planned to go to Jordan for their honeymoon but changed their minds following protests in the country and widespread instability in the region.

Royal sources reportedly said the couple had planned on a postponed honeymoon weeks ago. It has been speculated this could be a way to help keep paparazzi at bay.

Ringo, a paparazzo who has photographed the royals, told The Epoch Times this was not likely the case. “Unless they fly out privately, someone’s going to know,” he said.

“For any honeymoon pictures, they could sue for invasion of privacy, depending on the location. I suspect they will choose somewhere that is private property, like a privately-owned island. In Dubai or places like that you can get arrested for photographing people.

“It’s an unwritten rule that no one follows the Royal family,” he said. “Because of Diana, it’s set in stone that no one follows them.”

After the wedding, William and Kate left Buckingham Palace by helicopter. Possible destinations include Balmoral estate in Scotland, Sandringham estate in Norfolk, and the Scilly Isles.

According to The Telegraph, Prince William may be sent to the Falkland Islands for two and a half months, during which he would be separated from his wife. He would be on the island during commemorations of the 30th anniversary of the Falklands conflict.
