Ford was fastest but BMW dominated the rest of the field at the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge test sessions at the Roar Before the 24 at Daytona International Speedway this weekend.

Billy Johnson and Jack Roush Jr.’s No. 61 Roush Performance Ford Mustang Boss 302R set the fastest time in the CTSCC GS class, while the three Fall-Line BMW M3s were at or near the top in every test session.

Johnson and Roush topped the weekend with a lap of 1:56.984 at 109.553 mph on Sunday morning, but the Fall-Line BMW of Charles Espenlaub and Charles Putman was close behind at 1:57.279 at 109.277 mph.

The other two Fall-Line cars of Al Carter and Hugh Plumb, and Mark Boden and Bryan Sellers, took their turn as fastest in sessions throughout the weekend, with the 2011 champion Turner BMW of Paul Dalla Lana and Bill Auberlen also running in the top five regularly.

The Subaru Road Racing Team Subaru WRX-STI of Andrew Aquilante, John Heinricy, and Bret Spaude and the Rehagen Racing Mustang of Dean Martin and Bob Michaelian were the only other cars to crack the top three in the weekend’s six sessions.
