Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor of Virginia endorsed presidential candidate Mitt Romney on Sunday. Sen. Tom Coburn, a Republican from Oklahoma, also endorsed the former Massachusetts governor just two days before the Super Tuesday primaries.

Cantor, in an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press,” said Romney had the best overall perspective in dealing with the economy. He is the highest ranking GOP member in both the House and the Senate to endorse a candidate.

“We have seen now that the central issue about the campaign now is the economy,” Cantor said. “I just think there’s one candidate in the case who can do that, and it’s Mitt Romney.”

Sen. Coburn, wrote an opinion article for The Oklahoman newspaper published on Sunday, saying Romney “is best equipped to solve the urgent problems before us.”

“What Romney has done in his 25 years in the private sector is precisely what we need a president to do in Washington,” he added.
