The new BlackBerry Operating System (OS) 6.0 has been revealed to the public before the official release of the phones that will carry it, with limited comments from Research in Motion (RIM).
RIM released its first images of the new OS 6.0 at the Wireless Enterprise Symposium in Orlando. The design for the home screen in the OS 6.0 seems to be falling in line with other smart phones, such as the Apple iPhone and the HTC Droid Incredible. The imagery is a little flashier than the previous BlackBerries, and OS 6.0 will be more compatible with advanced touch screen technology, reported techtree.com.

BlackBerry OS 6.0 will also sport a redesigned media-playing program, along with snap-back feature that will make sorting through phone lists easier. The phone will also include a feature that allows you to click-and-hold an item to access options. This will be useful for tasks such as text messaging, where you can click or touch a message, and while keeping the option depressed, a menu will automatically pop up to give you a list of actions that could be taken.
BlackBerry recently released the Bold 9650 and Pearl 3G only to move on to a new phone that seeks to build on the cutting edge multi-touch screen technology first introduced by Apple. Apple’s iPad hand-held touch screens are set apart from the rest of the world by allowing users to govern their screens with two fingers instead of the prior standard of one.
