Rihanna and Chris Brown iPhone Video ‘Tape Leaked Today’ Just a Facebook Survey Scam

January 30, 2014 Updated: July 18, 2015

A viral Facebook posting that’s going around is claiming there’s an IPhone video with a “Rihanna and Chris Brown S xtape [sextape]” that was “leaked today,” but it’s a Facebook scam.

Users shouldn’t click on it or spread it further.

The scam is designed to get Facebook users to share or “like” the post, which contains a website set up to look like Facebook.

After sharing or “liking” the post, which features a lewd image with a video play button, the user then is prompted with a number of fake surveys that only try to take one’s personal information.

There’s no video, and it should ignored.

“[iPhone VIDEO] Rihanna & Chris Brown S xtape Leaked Today … Chris brown is very angry on rihanna for not to take care of her iPhone,” the entire post reads.

“It is this fake Facebook website that the scammers want you to ‘like’ or share, which will make it popular. Once the page is popular, these scammers can sell it to online marketers or other scammers. They will also make money from the surveys that are completed by gullible Facebook users who were tricked into completing them,” says Online Threat Alerts.

If one has shared the post, it is recommended to remove any instances of it to prevent it spreading even more.

Other recent posts that claim to have videos include ones about Rihanna being killed, the “world’s largest snake” in Brazil, and one about a shark eating a man in the ocean.
