The jackpot for the Powerball lottery drawing ballooned to $620 million after no winners were announced on Oct. 20.

The numbers drawn were 62-16-54-57-69 and the Powerball number was 23. The next drawing is Oct. 24.

In the Powerball, the winner can also opt for a cash prize of more than $354 million. The federal government will take 25 percent right away and more later, CNN noted.

Meanwhile, Mega Millions is now offering a $1.6 billion prize, according to Friday’s latest drawing. Nobody won that one either.

That means that the Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots combined have are roughly $2.22 billion.

“It’s hard to overstate how exciting this is ... but now it’s really getting fun,” said Gordon Medenica, the head director of the Mega Millions Group and director of Maryland Lottery and Gaming, CNN reported.

Nobody has won the Mega Millions prize since July 24 after a group of 11 workers in California split a $543 million prize. Powerball has jumped since the last winner—a New York man who won on Aug. 11.

“Big news! No one matched all six numbers in the Mega Millions game Tuesday so Friday’s jackpot will be worth an estimated $868 million. CA did sell a 5/6 prize worth $1.9 million. That winning retailer was Safeway located at 15 Marina Blvd,” said the California Lottery.
The all-time largest lottery win was on Jan. 13, 2016, when three tickets shared $1.586 billion in a Powerball drawing, CNBC reported. And on July 24, a California office of 11 co-workers shared a $543 million jackpot, which is the largest-ever prize won in a Mega Millions game.
Tickets for Mega Millions are $2, and the deadline is 10:50 p.m. ET in most states. Powerball tickets are also $2 and have to be purchased by 9:45 p.m. ET in most states.
