LONSDALE, Minn.—Some residents of a small community south of the Twin Cities say one business owner’s sign is giving the city a bad name.
Treats Family Restaurant owner Dan Ruedinger has a sign outside his business in Lonsdale that advertises his menu. But, it’s three words on that sign that has upset some in the community. It reads “Muslims Get Out.”
Ruedinger’s message follows a stabbing attack by a Somali man at a St. Cloud mall that authorities are investigating as a potential act of terrorism. Ruedinger says he won’t be “peer pressured by the politically correct crowd to not say” what he feels. Resident Angie Cram tells KSTP-TV Lonsdale is a great community and she doesn’t want people to think it’s hateful.
A small number of people protested outside the restaurant Monday night.
