Reggie Chance, or Reginald Chance, was identified as the biker who allegedly led a group of bikers to chase and attack Alexian Lien, a Manhattan man, who was hospitalized over the weekend after he was beaten.

The New York Daily News and New York Post both reported that Chance, a 38-year-old sandwich shop worker from Brooklyn, is slated to surrender on Friday. He has a lawyer.

Law enforcement sources told the Daily News that Chance was one who led the other bikers to follow and attack Lien’s SUV.

Biker Kevin Bresloff recorded the six-minute chase on his helmet camera, showing that Lien was driving in Upper Manhattan when he bumped the tire of a biker who cut in front of him, sparking dozens of other bikers to surround his vehicle. Lien then sped off and allegedly hit another biker, identified as Edwin Mieses Jr., who is now said to be in a coma.

Lien was punched and reportedly slashed in the face before rescuers came to his aid. His wife and 2-year-old daughter were in the car.

Bresloff, 37, was interviewed on Tuesday night and was not charged, according to the Daily News.

Thus far, Christopher Cruz has been the only biker charged in connection with the incident. Cruz is said to be the biker who stopped in front of Lien before his SUV bumped his rear tire.

Lien’s wife, Rosalyn Ng, released a statement on Thursday about the incident.

“We were faced with a life-threatening situation, and my husband was forced under the circumstances to take the actions he did in order to protect the lives of our entire family,” she wrote, according to local media reports. “We were placed in grave danger by a mob of reckless and violent motorcyclists,” she added. “We know in our hearts that we could not have done anything differently.”

She added: “Our sympathies go out to the injured motorcyclist and his family. However, we were faced with a life-threatening situation, and my husband was forced under the circumstances to take the actions that he did in order to protect the lives of our entire family.”
