Redondo Beach shooting: Police in Redondo Beach have identified a person of interest in the fatal ambush of a Gardena man outside of an apartment building over the weekend, according to reports.

The person wanted for questioning by police is 38-year-old Erik Julian Ortega, who is heavily tattooed and has one saying “Redondo how do you want it” across his stomach, according toThe Beach Reporter.

Ortega has a criminal record, including a robbery conviction, drug possession, resisting arrest, and making threats to kill someone.

His Chrysler 300 was found several blocks away from the apartment complex where Bobby Darren Reynolds was fatally shot Friday night. Reynolds, 38, was killed while he was visiting family.

“Mr. Reynolds was completely defenseless,” Redondo Beach police Capt. Jeff Kink told the publication. “This was a cold-blooded heartless attack.”

The mother-in-law of Reynolds, who was only identified as Margaret, told ABC-7 television: “They’ve left a woman without a husband, two kids without their daddy, and a mother and father without a son.”

“Not even 10 minutes after he left the door here, I heard pop, pop, pop,” she recalled.
