Labour Minister Diane Finley announced a three-year pilot project to help internationally trained professionals get their credentials recognized in Canada.

“For many internationally trained professionals, the cost of licensing exams, training, and skills upgrading can present a significant barrier to credential recognition,” notes a statement from the government.

The Foreign Credential Recognition Loans Pilot will develop and test projects to give those professionals financial assistance to help them get credentials recognized and find work in their field in Canada.

WIL Employment Connections in London, Ontario, and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. in Vancouver are among organizations selected to carry out pilots.
