Reality Star ‘Mama June,’ Boyfriend Indicted on Drug Charges in Alabama: Reports

Reality TV star “Mama June” of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” fame and her boyfriend were indicted on drug charges in Alabama, it was reported.

June “Mama June” Shannon and Eugene “Geno” Doak were indicted by an Alabama grand jury on Friday, Sept. 13, reported The Blast and TMZ.

They were initially arrested at a gas station in Macon County in March and were found to be in the possession of crack cocaine and a crack pipe, the Montgomery Advertiser reported.

“The Grand Jury of [Macon County] charges that before the finding of this Indictment June Shannon, alias June E. Shannon, alias, whose true name is otherwise unknown to the Grand Jury, did unlawfully possess a controlled substance, to-wit: Cocaine,” the indictment obtained by The Blast stated.

“The Grand Jury of [Macon County] further charges that before the finding of this Indictment June Shannon, alias June E. Shannon, alias, whose true name is otherwise unknown to the Grand Jury, did unlawfully possess with intent to use to inject, ingest, inhale or otherwise introduce into the human body, drug paraphernalia, to wit: a pipe,” the indictment noted.

Doak also faces the same charges, according to the report.

“The Grand Jury of [Macon County] charges that before the finding of this Indictment Eugene Edward Doak, alias, whose true name is otherwise unknown to the Grand Jury, did unlawfully possess a controlled substance, to-wit: Cocaine,” according to the indictment, as reported by The Blast.

Doak also is accused of unlawfully possessing cocaine with the intent to consume.

The drug possession charges against the two are felonies, while the paraphernalia charge is a misdemeanor.

Shannon is perhaps best known for her appearance on “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” on the TLC network, which ran for four seasons. She is the mother of Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson.

She also appeared on her own namesake show on WE tv. Doak also appeared on the show.

Before she was arrested in March, her family staged an intervention and told her to enter an in-patient treatment facility, People reported. She ultimately checked herself into the facility in North Carolina.

According to People magazine, citing the show: “After only 12 hours, June checks herself out. Geno picks her up. Their whereabouts are unknown.”

They were arrested two days later in Alabama.

“As soon as Geno got Mama from the treatment center, I knew it was over from there. Mama just got charged with possession of crack cocaine, which is a felony,” her daughter, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, said on the show.

According to her show, “Mama June” stayed in Alabama in May while she waited for her trial.

“June remains in Alabama. According to June, she’s not allowed to leave the state until after her hearing,” the show said. “She could face several years of jail time.”

Shannon is scheduled to appear in court later this month, TMZ reported.
