The monsoon rains on July 21 brought almost an inch of rain, which is unusual for the Phoenix region.
Officials said to be careful when it rains so much.
“If you see a flooded wash, don’t cross them,” Phoenix fire Capt. Larry Nunez told the Arizona Republic. “They’re going a lot faster than people think they are, and they’re a lot deeper.”
