A rare white tiger was killed by a pack of Bengal tigers at an Indian zoo.

Two white tigers—Amar and Shreyas—got into an enclosure that housed the Bengal tigers at the Bannerghatta Biological Park in Bangalore, according to reports.

Amar suffered minor injuries, but Shreyas was mauled by several of the Bengal tigers.

In a clip, zoo staff can be heard trying to distract the other tigers from attacking. Yelling, car horns, and other loud noises go off, but to no avail. Shreyas was unable to be saved and died several days later, according to MailOnline.

C. Jayaram, principal chief conservator of forests in India, said that an investigation has been launched.

“In the meanwhile we have also instituted an inquiry to find out why such a mishap happened,” Jayaram said, per Yahoo7. “Both the Bengal tigers are fine and they have been treated.”
