Rapper Travis Scott announced on Twitter on Aug. 14 that he was giving out $100,000 to anyone who might need it, and his fans went wild.

It turns out that he helped one of his fans, Peter Valdriz, with his mother’s funeral costs. The fan received $800 and a personal message from Scott after he replied to the rapper’s tweet the next day.

The rapper initially announced that he was giving the money to fans through the Cash App in order to commemorate his first album “Astroworld.” Fans had to quote lyrics from his latest album and put their Cash App tag in their tweets in order to get a chance to receive some money.

Scott tweeted, “SO I KNOW ITS HARD FOR THE KIDS. SO I DECIDED TO UNLOAD MY BANK ACCOUNT ON U GUYS. IM BUSTING DOWN $100,000 AND GIVING AWAY TO ANY FANS THAT CAN TWEET ME THERE CASH TAG WITH LYRICS FROM ASTRO. GANG !!”

Valdriz’s mother passed away recently after battling a brain virus with complications. The fan said Scott’s generosity will help with his mother’s funeral expenses next week, which would have been her 52nd birthday, according to TMZ.
“This would definitely help with my Mom’s funeral cost. It’s worth a shot. $PeterValdriz #ASTROWORLD,” wrote Valdriz in his original tweet.

Valdriz also said the gift from the rapper inspired other “kind and generous” strangers to chip in and help pay for the funeral, according to TMZ.
