Rachel Frederickson, the winner of “The Biggest Loser,” defended her dramatic weight loss in her first appearance since the season finale.

Frederickson dropped from 260 pounds to 105 pounds on the show over seven months.

She told the Today show that she “felt really proud” of what she accomplished, and was surprised by the backlash.

Some media outlets quoted experts who said that the huge weight loss wasn’t healthy.

Frederickson acknowledged the legitimacy of the concerns.

“I appreciate the concern and I can see where it comes from,” she said.

Frederickson did appear healthier in her appearance as opposed to the show finale, where her face looked somewhat gaunt.

She said that she’s in the “maintenance stage” of her transformation, and focusing on learning how to interact with family and friends in her new lifestyle.

“It’s a big balance,” she said, reported Daily Mail, citing the Today show.

“What I’ve learned is I have an inner strength, I have a voice. I can trust myself.”
