The Nine Commentaries on the Chinese Communist Party is a nine-part editorial series printed in The Epoch Times in November, 2004. This book explains the true history and nature of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and provides a comprehensive analysis of the CCP’s reign in China and the estimated 80 million deaths it has caused. To date, The Nine Commentaries has been instrumental in helping over 81 million Chinese people to withdraw their membership from the CCP. The book is officially banned in China but despite its banning by the authorities, it continues to be widely spread and sought after by Chinese citizens.
The following are two Chinese citizens’ personal testimonies:
A Secret Kept in My Heart for Years
My reason for again quitting the Party is to speak a truth that I have repressed in my heart for many years, which has given me constant nightmares and tormented my conscience, and which I have never told anyone: Many years ago I served in the military in the Xinjiang Autonomous Region. At that time I was forced to take part in an operation that annihilated an entire Hui village. Facing the innocent men, women, elderly and even nursing infants, I was simply unable to pull the trigger. Yet there was another, far better-equipped and more vigorous unit that had encircled us, and if we didn’t open fire, the other unit would have opened fire on us. Facing the situation where if we did not shoot we would be killed and our Hui countrymen still not spared, we opened fire whilst shedding tears. I will never forget that extreme cruelty and tragic scene, which cannot be described with words.When I returned to the countryside, I was decommissioned and dared not to go to Hui communities. Whenever I saw Hui people I could not lift my head and was full of remorse and sorrow. I was raised as an honest and kind person, and I could have passed a happy and peaceful, normal life, but the demon robbed me this happiness I should have had.
…If gods hear my repentance, please grant me peace of mind so that I will no longer be terrified by this recurring nightmare. Today, I solemnly declare that I withdraw from the CCP and any of its affiliated organizations.
Serious Advice from My Friend: Automatic Termination Does Not Count
Five years ago, a friend of mine told me about the “three withdrawals” (quiting the CCP and its two affilliated organisations, the Youth League and the Young Pioneers). I thought my affiliation with the Youth League already terminated when I exceeded the age limit set for its membership and because of this I did not need to make a separate statement. Recently, I met her again. I asked her why I had to make a declaration after the automatic termination of my membership.
She explained that when I joined the Youth League, I wrote applications, went through reviews, took a vow, and received a certificate. Yet when you quit, you did nothing and said no word. How could this count? We Chinese have always taken a vow seriously. When ancient Chinese couldn’t pay back the mercy and gratitude to someone, they would take a vow to repay their debt in the next lifetime by serving as a horse or an ox. This is how serious a vow is.
The Youth League terminated you on age. But you did not quit it.
Today, I, Liu Canlan, solemnly declare that I voluntarily quit the Communist Youth League and Young Pioneers to start a new, bright life outside the shadow of the CCP.
