NEW YORK—The Global Service Center for Quitting the Chinese Communist Party (“Service Center”) recently announced its new service of issuing certificates to people who quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations.

The certificate has legal effect, and has been recognized by the United States immigration officers, appropriate authorities, and lawyers.

Background Checks

The Service Center decided to render this service to the public after getting countless requests, said Dr. Li Dayong, chairman of the Service Center.

The fact that United States immigration laws have excluded immigrants with affiliations with Communist parties or Nazis has given immigration officers a hard time in determining the immigration status of Mainland Chinese applicants. Most Chinese immigrants have joined the CCP and its affiliated organizations in China if they had received elementary school level education in mainland, this makes them ineligible for permanent immigration status in the United States.

As a result, many Chinese immigrants have lied about their affiliation with the CCP and its related organizations in order to apply for legal immigration status in the United States.

United States Immigration Officers Recognize Certificate

The Service Center started receiving requests for such certificates at the start of 2008. Many Chinese immigrants felt that they should qualify for legal immigration status in the United States after completely withdrawing from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.

So far the Service Center has issued many such certificates. Through word of mouth, more and more people have requested this document.

The United States immigration officers have also been happy with this certificate, because the applicant is telling the truth, and also expressing his/her understanding on the CCP. Some stated that a few immigration officers even asked them what the “Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party” were, and what the title and content of each commentary was.

Lawyers Love It Too

Many human rights and immigration lawyers also appreciate the certificate. One immigration lawyer said that many Chinese immigrants used to claim that they were Falun Gong practitioners when applying for immigration status in the United States, even though they were not.

When Chinese immigrants use their real names in the certificate for quitting the CCP and its affiliated organizations, they are subjected to political persecution by the Chinese communist regime, and they are therefore equally qualified to obtain political asylum in the United States.

Chinese Immigrants Are Grateful

Even more grateful or this service are the Chinese people. According to the Service Center, overseas Chinese immigrants are not the only group of people that have requested the certificate, many mainland Chinese have also made requests through various channels to get their hands on this document.

As of now, there are over one hundred service centers for quitting the CCP across the globe, and the Service Center’s New York office is the only office providing this service.

According to Dr. Li, close to 50 million Chinese have quit the CCP since the Epoch Times published the “Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party” in 2004. Every month, there are over one million people withdrawing from the CCP and its affiliated organizations via the Epoch Times website, and the trend is still growing.
