Police have arrested a man who is suspected of stabbing a quarterback with the University of Delaware, according to reports.

NBC Philadelphia reported that 25-year-old Michael Creed got into a argument with quarterback Trevor Sasek, 22, on Sunday morning. When Sasek approached him, Creed then grabbed the quarterback by his shoulder and stabbed him in the chest and abdomen.

Creed then fled the scene before he was tracked down on Monday. He was charged with first degree assault and possession of a deadly weapon.

Sasek was driven to the hospital in a private vehicle, reported ABC News. He is listed in stable condition.

Police identified Creed after he was allegedly caught on surveillance camera footage. On the footage, Creed allegedly yelled at a crowd of people that included Sasek.

“University of Delaware officials have been in contact with the injured student and his family, and we wish him a speedy recovery,” said John Brennan, a school spokesman, according to DelawareOnline.com.

Junior Doug Kenny said that “it is unfortunate. There has been an escalation [in violent crime] recently.”
