Qatar had a MERS death, the third to happen in the Middle Eastern country.
An unidentified expat aged 61 contracted the coronoavirus and died, reported AFP, citing the official QNA news agency.
The man also suffered from “chronic illnesses,” the government said.
Another person who had the virus was discharged from a hospital after being successfully treated.
Dozens have died across the Middle East from MERS, primarily in Saudia Arabia, where 54 deaths have occurred out of 129 cases, CIDRAP reported.
A 73-year-old woman in Riyadh died on November 19 in the country.
Nine countries have now reported cases of human infection with MERS-CoV, according to the World Health Organization. Those are France, Germany, Italy Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.
All cases have had a connection with the Middle East.
