NEW YORK—From Times Square to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, from China Town to Fifth Avenue—New York City is known to be the perfect pick for vacation and a destination for travelers from around the globe. But what about the folks that live right here in the Big Apple? With so many choices, where do they like to go on their free days?

The Epoch Times asks: What is your favorite New York City Staycation?

James Mitchell, 74, Retired
“Madison Square Park is my favorite place to be. People here are nice. It feels peaceful here. Mostly I come alone and just spend my time thinking about my life and make plans for the future. I like this park better than any other in New York City.”

Joe White, 49, Marketing
“For my free time I would like to spend time on the beaches in South Jersey. When I come to the city during free time, I spend my time with family and friends. This week I went to my niece’s graduation here.”

Johnny Midenc, 67, Retired Police Officer
“Coney Island, definitely. Haven’t been there for a long time, I have to go there soon! I love to swim so that’s why Coney Island is my top choice. I would always go there and spend at least five hours with my girlfriend, and then go home.”

Alexis Maule, 24, Investment Banker
“I like to go to Central Park, definitely not 5th Ave. I want to be away from the city. I like to run, so I go to Central Park to participate in the races.”
