A python was escaped from its pen at Issaquah High School in western Washington state earlier this week, it was reported.

“We think he escaped all on his own,” principal Andrea McCormick told KOMO-TV. “He’s a tricky little snake.”

The two-foot-long ball python was found missing from its enclosure when classes started on Wednesday, reported KOMO-TV.

The snake, according to officials, is docile. Ball pythons are non-venomous.

McCormick stressed that the python, named “Hamilton,” is harmless to people.

The news comes weeks after a snake attacked and killed two young boys in Canada.

However, the snake that killed the two children weighed 100 pounds and was an African rock python.
