Puppy Stolen From Animal Shelter

Police in Salinas is investigating the theft on the night of Sept. 14, of a puppy from the Monterey County Animal Services shelter.

Staff at the shelter discovered the young Labrador mix was missing on the morning of Sept. 15.

The thieves broke into the shelter overnight and kidnapped the puppy.

The puppy is black with white on his paws and chest.

A local family had already adopted the puppy and was scheduled to bring the animal home this week.

Staff members at the county shelter are reviewing security footage of the incident to help police identify the suspects who broke into the shelter.
