There's a couple of new foes affecting gamers who are proving to be far more destructive than any on-screen villains. With foreboding nicknames like "the blue light of death" and "the disc drive of doom," they're the glitches putting a hamper on the next-generation gaming systems Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The Playstation 4 and the Xbox One have sold over 7.2 million consoles since their launch in 2013.

PS4 takes the lead by 1.2 million units, with its total sales around 4.2 million. Xbox One is trailing closely behind at 3 million. This is partly due to the fact that PS4 had the advantage of being released one week earlier than the Xbox One.

So, which gaming system is better between the two? Or is one better? That depends on what you want to use them for.

For a die-hard gaming experience, the PS4 is probably the better bet. The PS4 is the more powerful of the two systems. The PS4 is also cheaper than the Xbox One. In fact, it is so cheap that Sony is losing money on each of the consoles that it sells and makes it back from the games.

For a multimedia experience, the Xbox One takes the cake. The Xbox One can be used as a cable box for watching TV. It also has voice control features, which the PS4 lacks. And, the Xbox One has the Kinect 2.0 included with it in the package. For those unfamiliar, the Kinect is a camera/sensor that allows gamers to play games by moving around in front of their television, rather than playing through a controller.

The PS4 does not have a camera included; it must be purchased separately.
