The protest went on without incident until the demonstrators blocked Florissant Road in front of the police station. After about a 5-minute standoff, the line of police pushed the protesters off the road. Similar situations then repeated several times. At least two protesters were arrested.
Rasheen Aldridge, member of the Ferguson Commission formed Tuesday by the Missouri Governor Jay Nixon, was among the protesters. He said the protest didn’t erupt for any particular reason, it was just to, once again, voice dissatisfaction with how is the community is treated by police.
“Just another day in Ferguson,” Aldridge said.
The protesters chanted slogans demanding indictment of police officer Darren Wilson, who shot dead a local man Michael Brown on Aug. 9.
A Missouri grand jury should announce a decision of whether the officer will be indicted or not by the end of November.
