MADISON—Dan Ampe says the election fraud has shown that corruption in American institutions have reached levels he never would have imagined even in his “wildest dreams.”

“I am here to support, first, our Constitution, and Donald Trump,” he said at a Stop the Steal rally in Madison, Wisconsin on Nov. 28, 2020. Thousands have been protesting against election fraud every Saturday since Election Day.  “I think this ridiculous, how our politicians have been doing to us. They’re supposed to serve us, not have us serve them.”

It’s a big reason Ampe supports Trump; he said when the president first ran, he wasn’t a politician. He was brash and said controversial things but Ampe said it was probably on purpose, and if so Trump succeeded in shaking things up and waking people up.

He says most Americans have been sleeping and letting corruption continue on, “but it’s time to wake up.” At the very least, the violence imposed on people by groups like Black Lives Matter and Antifa with the riots in recent months should remind you of Nazism, he added. “And our media’s just as corrupt as anybody else.”

“I’ve been listening to what’s going on, and I never in my wildest dreams would have thought there would be so much corruption in our society, right from the FBI to the other organizations that are supposed to be helping the Constitution, not themselves,” he said. “So I’m glad I voted for him [Trump] and I think he definitely needs to get back in there.”

On the left and in the Joe Biden camp, Ampe said “all I see is manipulation and lying.”

Ampe said he hopes the people who have been subverting the Constitution and the institutions get put in prison.

“We have treason laws,” he said. “I’ve been in a war, my son’s in the Marine Corp, this is from a fellow military personnel: treason is treason. And as far as I’m concerned, if someone has gone against the country in this fashion, the law should apply.”
