Prince William has “stunned the royal family” and given up his right to the throne of England over pregnant wife Kate Middleton, according to a tabloid report on Thursday.

Details are scant, but a report from Globe magazine claims that William “told the heartbroken” Queen Elizabeth II that he doesn’t want to be king. It describes the matter as the “Love Story Of The Century.”

Citing unnamed sources, the tabloid adds that he did it “to save pregnant Kate.” The edition of Globe will be available Nov. 10.

Over the years, there has been rumors about William’s desire to be king.
