Prince Hospitalized After Plane Makes Emergency Landing: Report
Prince, the singer born Prince Rogers Nelson, was sent to the hospital after his plane made an emergency landing in Illinois early on Friday morning.
TMZ reported on the incident, saying one source said Prince “isn’t doing well” and is still hospitalized.
It’s unclear what the medical emergency is.
His private plane made a landing at Quad City International Airport in Moline at around 1 a.m. on Friday. He was immediately taken to a hospital, TMZ said.
But another source told the celebrity news website that the singer was released and is doing fine.
Prince, 57, performed in Atlanta on Thursday night.
The Minneapolis native known as The Purple One performed two intimate shows as part of his “Piano & A Microphone” tour.
Atlanta Journal music journalist Melissa Ruggieri was present during the Atlanta show, saying that Prince apologized over him suffering the flu and postponing the concert. She said his singing voice was flawless.
The shows were scheduled to take place in early April but were postponed due to an undisclosed illness, reported The New York Daily News.
Prince has had a rough year. In February, his protege, Vanity, passed away due to kidney and abdominal problems following a drug overdose. Prince dedicated a song to her during a concert earlier in 2016.
