Prince Charles may give Prince Harry a dog, according to the latest rumors.
Most of the royal family has dogs. Queen Elizabeth has a corgis, Charles has a Jack Russells, and Prince William and Kate Middleton have a cocker spaniel.
Charles, though, has refrained from owning a dog despite being public with his love of them.
“Recently there has been chatter at court that Prince Charles was going to give Harry a Labrador, specifically a chocolate colored one, for his 30th birthday,” reported the Daily Express.
But there’s been no signs of the gift and a Palace spokesman denied that it was going to happen.
Still, there’s hope for the future, according to biographer Penny Junor.
“He loves dogs, but I suspect the reason he doesn’t have one is because his life is too peripatetic. I don’t know why he didn’t have one when he was a child, maybe because there were too many in the house already. His father had the Jack Russells and William had a Labrador (which he gave to the Van Cutsems when he went to university),” he said.
“It was only when William was settled in Anglesey that they got their dog, and I would guess Harry will wait until his circumstances make it practical to have one.”
