The tank top sweater that Prince George is sporting in his first Christmas photo shoot has already sold out after a flood of customers sought the item after the photos were released.
The blue woolen top was snatched up by royal admirers, prompting the company to assure others that it’s looking into obtaining more.
“We sold it but it sold out a while ago,” Cath Kidston said via Twitter.
“Given the huge demand we’re looking into getting more. We’ll be speaking to our team tomorrow to see what’s possible so we’ll be able to update you next week #fingerscrossed.”
A spokesman confirmed to the Telegraph that the top would be back in 2015 “due to popular demand.”
The top was going for £28 for a while but was temporarily discounted to £16 before selling out.
Some used tops were selling on eBay, described as “as worn by” or “as seen on” Prince George.”
The company told those interested that they should look at the other tank tops they sell, which are similar but sport different designs.
George, now 17 months old and the first child of Prince William and Kate Middleton, had a white cotton shirt from Polarn O. Pyret under the tank top.
He was also wearing black shorts, black socks, and black shoes from Start-Rite Jo.
Kate and William released three pictures of George, an odd occurrence because they have mostly shielded him from the public eye.
A palace source told the Express that one of the reasons the latest pictures have been released by William and Kate “is in grateful acknowledgment of the fact that their request for Prince George to grow up without intrusion from photography has been, and continues to be, honored.”
