Pretty Little Liars midseason finale aired this week and fans are wondering when the show will return.

The show will be on a break for several months, but will be back for an all-new Halloween special which will air on October 21.

ABC Family says that it’s a “one-hour fan appreciation special,” though it’s unclear what exactly it will entail.

The show will also have a Christmas episode, which will air sometime in December.

The date for this has not yet been announced but there’s only four Tuesdays in December before Christmas, meaning it will air on December 2, December 9, December 16, or December 23. A trailer has been released for the Halloween special but not the Christmas one.

Showrunner Marlene King told TVLine earlier this year that she has been trying to do a Christmas episode for four years, and she revealed via Twitter that she'll be writing and directing the episode.

A description for the Christmas episode hasn’t been released yet but it’s titled How the ‘A’ Stole Christmas.

Some hints have emerged as far as the plot. A photo shared from the set showed Hanna on edge, looking pensive while rocking a t-shirt and sweater. Another photo King shared was of Mrs. D smiling creepily, sparking speculation that she might return for the episode. And yet another photo confirms that Paige will be in the episode.

King also dropped this clue via Twitter: “Hark the herald angels sing. Glory to the newborn queen. #MajorPllHolidayClue.”
