DAEJEON, South Korea—Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company debuted in Daejeon at the Jeongsimhwa International Cultural Center on March 1. After seeing the performance, Ms. Ri Jeong Yun, president of Korean Guk Bo Literature Association, spoke highly of Shen Yun’s presentation of the magnificence of Chinese culture. She said, “What I gained today was unparalleled happiness, as if I had experienced a series of touching stories in my life.”

Ms. Ri described Shen Yun as something that was beyond words. “It is difficult to simply use human language to describe it. It was a kind of a comprehensive artistic feast. It deeply touched the bottom of my heart,” she said.

She highly praised Shen Yun’s dance, orchestra and costumes. She said, “The show began with gorgeous dance with the elements of martial arts. And it was followed by vocal solos, dances with colorful costumes, and programs depicting the magnificence of Chinese culture, which is something never seen by most people here before. The grandeur and gracefulness are almost beyond words.”

Ms. Ri said that she was very impressed by the program Lotus Leaves, saying, “Wow! The lotus crests on the dancers’ heads and the lotus leaves in their hands were synchronized wonderfully. They illustrated the pureness of lotus flowers so beautifully that it was really very refreshing.”

She added that she also particularly enjoyed the programs Qing Imperial Guards and Martial Arts Training Ground. “The masculinity of the imperial guards and other martial arts elements in the show were really fantastic. It was really great to see this show,” she said.

She concluded by saying that she appreciated Shen Yun very much. “What I gained today was indeed something wonderful, as if I had gone through a series of stories in my life.”

“Having this opportunity of seeing Shen Yun is indeed very fortunate for me, and I am really very happy, and I appreciate it very much.”
