A new Australian mother was overwhelmed after thousands of people wished her well when she uploaded a video of her premature twins holding hands.
The babies, who weigh 2 pounds each, were born 11 weeks premature, but that hasn’t stopped newborns Kristian and Kristiana from bonding.
Anthea Jackson-Rushford, the twins’ mother, posted a video of them holding hands, capturing the attention of more than 11 million people on Facebook.
“He actually holds her hand,” Jackson-Rushford says in the clip. “How is that possible? That’s just unbelievable.”
According to ABC Online, the twins are doing well.
“I think they’ve felt each other. If they feel each other they just grab for each other,” she told the network.
“I couldn’t believe it. And they kept doing it. It was just unreal.”
She hopes the twins will have a strong bond for the rest of their lives.
“I hope they’ll constantly be holding hands and looking after each other and not fighting with each other and driving each other crazy,” she told ABC Online.
