Recently, a 78-year-old woman in Hunan Province discovered that she was pregnant. She had heard a noise in her abdomen and her abdomen became bigger over time. An OBGYN doctor confirmed that she was six months pregnant. If she gives birth to the baby as expected, she will become the world’s oldest woman to ever to give birth.

The woman’s name is Zhu Yumei and she is from Fengping Town of Lianyuan City in Hunan Province. According to www.people.com, Zhu Yumei said happily while touching her growing lower abdomen, “This is a son given by the Bodhisattva. He will grow up to be an emperor!”

Zhu Yumei said that starting on September 26 of last year, she had found herself undergoing morning sickness and vomiting. She had noticed that something was beating in her abdomen and that her abdomen was “growing.” Her normally small breasts had also started to fill out and often leaked milk.

Zhu Yumei is the mother of eight including four sons and four daughters. With her many years experience of being a mother, she knew that she was pregnant. Accompanied by her husband Xie Fengcun she went to the OBGYN department of the Baima Town Health Clinic. After the examination, the doctor said that indeed she was most likely pregnant.

Currently, Zhu Yumei is six months pregnant. If she gives birth to the baby as expected, she will become the world’s oldest woman ever to give birth. The current record for the oldest woman to give birth was set in 2005 by Adriana, a sixty-six year old retired professor in Romania.
