An article saying that Portland, Ore., is the “most racist” city in the United States is actually from a satire news website.
“In a recent nationwide survey conducted by the Oklahoma Symposium of Racial Studies, researchers claim to have pinpointed the individual US cities that are most plagued by racism. The list included locations such as Atlanta, GA, Phoenix, AZ and Chicago, IL. However, the city crowned most infected with the cancer of racial intolerance came as a shocker to many: The so-called ‘liberal’ utopia of Portland OR,” the fake article reads.
It was published on the National Report, which says it doesn’t post real news stories in its disclaimer.
“National Report is a news and political satire web publication, which may or may not use real names, often in semi-real or mostly fictitious ways. All news articles contained within National Report are fiction, and presumably fake news. Any resemblance to the truth is purely coincidental,” the disclaimer reads.
The National Report has done a number of satire stories about Portland in the past.
