Police Release Names of Nine Recent Homicide Victims

Oakland police on Sept. 13, released the names of nine homicide victims, some dating back to July.

In most cases, police didn’t list the ages of the victims or say where they lived.

In the most recent case, police identified Michael Grant as the man who was fatally shot in the 2400 block of Salisbury Street, near Peralta Hacienda Historical Park, at 9:23 p.m. on Sept. 8.

Jorge Vaquero was identified as the man who was fatally shot in the 4500 block of East 12th Street in East Oakland at 10:18 p.m. on Sept. 4.

Esau Davis was identified as the man who was fatally shot in the 1300 block of 72nd Avenue near International Boulevard in East Oakland at about 7 p.m. on Aug. 26.

Christian Dorsey-Jackson was identified as the man who was fatally shot in the 1100 block of 65th Avenue in East Oakland at 11:12 p.m. on Aug. 28.

Douglas Andrews, 21, of Stockton, was named as the man who died at a hospital after he was shot in the 900 block of 40th Avenue in Oakland’s Fruitvale district at 10:26 p.m. on Aug. 2.

Ellesse McFee, 21, and Maxwell Thomas, 19, were identified as the woman and man who were fatally shot at 73rd and Bancroft avenues in East Oakland at about 11 p.m. on July 26.

Shawn Ford and Willard Lewis were named as the two men who were found dead at a home in the 1700 block of Adeline Street in West Oakland at about 8:48 p.m. on July 22.
