Police in Carrollton, Texas, noticed a suspicious car that was idle in the middle of the night a few months ago.

The officer found a homeless couple who were asleep inside the vehicle with a child. However, the story doesn’t end there. The couple was employed but recently moved to Carrollton and were temporarily homeless.

According to Fox-8, the police department said on Facebook that the officers didn’t “want credit/attention,” but they “spotted a car parked at a city park after hours,” which had the couple and their 1-year-old daughter.

One officer determined the couple needed help and “not handcuffs” for parking there. Officers and the department’s victim advocate got the couple and their daughter a “hotel room for the night and the support they need.”

People showed a huge amount of support on the department’s Facebook post.

“They’re not in this line of work for the attention or for the praise or for the glory,” Jolene DeVito, a city spokeswoman, told KDFW News.

“The police stopped and helped them” and “our whole community,” one woman said in the Fox-8 video, who was inspired to donate items for the family.

People came in to the department to give clothes, food, gift cards, and other items for the family and their daughter

“It means the world to me. I’m on this Earth to help other people,” one woman, who donated some items, told the station.
