State Police arrested 21-year-old Robert Lemmount on Sept. 28. A Circleville resident, Lemmount was present at the New Year party in the Town of Crawford on the night of the murder of Silver Lake volunteer firefighter Justin Speights. Lemmount was charged with one count of tampering with physical evidence. A press release stated police determined that Lemmount deleted evidence related to the homicide when he deleted electronic evidence from his cellphone after Speights was killed.

Lemmount was arraigned in Crawford and put in County Jail instead of paying $25,000 in cash bail or obtaining a $50,000 secured bond.

The investigation into what happened the night Speights was killed and who is responsible is ongoing.
