A 4-year-old boy was found dead after he accidentally shot himself with a handgun on Saturday, Jan. 27, police in Texas City, Texas, said.
Police responded to a call about a shooting of a young boy on the 2800 block of Lynn Circle at around 1:20 p.m. reported ABC13, citing police.
The boy found a small caliber handgun in a bedroom and accidentally pulled the trigger, according to a police statement on Jan. 27.
The 4-year-old was staying with his grandmother at the time of the shooting, police said.
Police are still investigating the circumstances of the shooting.
